Welcome to the Journey …
What is Advent? The season in the Christian Church that encompasses the four Sundays before Christmas. Traditionally, it is a season of waiting, expectation and reflection.
During this season of Advent, Community United Methodist Church will be on a journey. We will recall the journeys leading up to the birth of Jesus, and will take to heart the qualities that these journeys inspire:
- the Willingness of Mary
- the Mercy of Joseph
- the Encouragement of Elizabeth, and
- the Perseverance on the road to Bethlehem.
The CUMC Worship Team has planned creative worship experiences to invite you into The Journey. Each Sunday during Advent, there will be a gathering time of meditation and prayer. As you enter the Church, there will be music and video reflecting our theme. This “passport” will provide you with the scripture, order of service, prayers, and a place to take notes each week.
