Fat Sunday?? It’s just around the corner and you won’t want to miss it! This is our version of a Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday celebration, complete with Dixieland music and terrific food. It all happens during the coffee hour on March 6.
Remember what fun it was when a few of our church musicians marched down the aisle playing When the Saints Go Marching In on All Saints Day? This group is now officially known as the Coastside Dixie Band and they are ready to help us celebrate Fat Sunday!
What’s a party without great food, you ask? Come prepared for Mardi Gras specialties like king cake and a fabulous breakfast casserole. If you like, bring your own favorite decadent snacks to share; we are sure our nibblers will love them. Many thanks to our regular Sunday morning coffee hour group for all their help with this event!
The Fat Sunday celebration is being planned by the Discipleship Development team and is meant to be a festive beginning for a reflective season. We will have materials and suggestions available on March 6 that we trust you will find helpful during Lent. Our team hopes that Lent is a time of repentance and renewal for you – and we hope you enjoy starting it with our March 6 party!
The Disciple Development team is developing a CUMC Advent Calendar for this coming Christmas season. The team welcomes (and needs) help from members of the congregation … after all, Christmas is a family affair. If you are interested in participating, please call the CUMC office and leave a message for Hiroko.
We have formed two groups. One has filled. The second group still has a few spaces available. The group will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings, at 6.00 pm for an hour. If you are interested, please call the CUMC office and leave a message for Larry or Gerry.

Pilot groups are forming … Saturday, September 18th, 9.00 am, in the Sweeney Ridge Room, the McKie Building at CUMC.

This women’s Bible Study group will being on September 13th at 9.30 am in the CUMC Social Hall. We will be studying Women in the Bible. All women in the church family are invited.
